How Many Leads Should You Buy First?
Size your first MarketRoster pack to weekly outreach capacity, follow-up load, and offer complexity—not to the largest inventory number on the page.
Direct answer
Buy enough leads for two to four weeks of personalized outreach including follow-ups, add a small buffer for suppressed or unusable rows, and reorder after you see contactability and reply quality.
Estimate weekly capacity
Count how many personalized outreaches you can send and follow up on each week. Include second and third touches in the math before you look at inventory.
- First touches per day
- Follow-ups per day
- Working days this month
Simple capacity formula
Recommended starting quantity ≈ (personalized touches per week × campaign weeks) + unusable-row buffer. Example: 40 touches/week × 3 weeks + 15% buffer ≈ 138 leads (~$13.80 at $0.10/lead).
- Minimum checkout: 10 leads
- Do not buy more than you can follow up
- Buffer for suppression and blanks
Account for follow-up
A first touch without follow-up wastes inventory. If follow-up doubles your weekly workload, cut first-touch volume in half rather than buying a larger pack.
Reorder with evidence
After one pack, review contactability, reply quality, and which industries or states deserve the next checkout. Expand only when capacity and offer proof support it.
